Community Art Gallery

During the month of December you can check out paintings by Philip Hoffman at the Lyndale Community Art Gallery.

Philip's work draws from art history, nature, and 50 years of living on this planet.  When he views art, he is drawn to composition and then the color and lighting, with content almost not being factor.  That is why he is drawn to abstraction.  He is influenced by the way that nature creates a scene, by bringing the elements together and letting them battle it out for supremacy.   

Starting this July the Lyndale Community Center will be a lot more colorful and a lot more interesting.  The Lyndale Neighborhood Association (LNA) and Regla De Oro gallery are forming a partnership to present art shows at the Lyndale Community Center.

The plan is to have Regla curate three shows annually at the Community Center.  The shows will focus on artists who live and work close to the Lyndale neighborhood, but shall not be exclusive to them.  The shows may include a mix of shows centered around specific artists or community themes.

About Community Art Gallery

The Community Art Gallery is a partnership between the Lyndale Neighborhood Association and Regla De Oro Gallery.  The Gallery is located at the Lyndale Community Center 3537 Nicollet Avenue and is generally open during normal business hours.  The public is welcome to stop by and check out the current show.  Interested in purchasing a piece or being a part of an upcoming show, contact Jessica at 612.886.1247.  General inquires can be made to Mark at 612.824.9402 x 16.

Join us for an afternoon of great food and fun games. We'll be serving all of your favorite homemade, slow-cooked, mouthwatering BBQ favorites with some interesting twists and a few surprises. We'll also have some fun backyard games and interesting drinks to get summer off to a great start. This is a family-friendly event that you should come really hungry to!

We will also be having a community vote on a request from Teen Challenge for a variance for expansion of services.

Volunteer Special

Neighborhood Beautifiers:
On Saturday, May 4th from 10am to 1pm LNA's Environment Committee will host its annual Litter Outta Lyndale.  This event brings neighbors together to pick up the debris uncovered by the melting snow.  Come to the Lyndale Community Center (3537 Nicollet) anytime between 10-1 and enjoy some breakfasty treats, get a bag, gloves, and a route and pitch in for this great neighborhood clean up.  Contact jennifer@lyndale.org or 612-824-9402 ext. 12 for more information.
