The Lyndale Community Dinner will turn into a Thanksgiving Eve Feast on Wednesday, November 27! Last year we cooked 14 turkeys, sacks of potatoes, and shared dozens of pies. The whole church smelled delicious!
What makes this community meal is possible is when neighbors and organizations team up together.
- Making a food donation
- Inviting people to attend this festive event.
To sign up for food donations, contact the Zion Church office (612-824-1017). Deana Miller will be able to tell you what we still need, in what amount, and when you can drop it off:

The Lyndale Community Dinner is outside this summer!
It takes a lot of work to move the kitchen to the south lawn, but we're able to enjoy the sun and shade thanks to volunteers from partner organizations and neighbors like you! Every week a different group of 4-6 helpers is in charge of setting up tables and chairs, helping in the kitchen, moving food outside, serving the meal, and assisting with clean up.
Last night more than 60 neighbors enjoyed dinner together at the Lyndale Community Dinner. Breakfast for Dinner was back by popular demand, so we enjoyed fresh-made french toast, breakfast potatoes, eggs and turkey bacon. The fruit and vegetables looked colorful and were sliced by community volunteers - like you! Food brings us together for all kinds of reasons. Some like to help and some are just plain hungry. Others love meeting new neighbors or loathe doing dishes. Whatever your reason, join the crowd on Wednesday nights.
Dinner is Served on Wednesdays 6:00pm at Zion Church (33rd & Pillsbury) Enter through the blue door on the north side of the building and head downstairs to the banquet room.
Sunday, May 5th at 12:00 pm
Let’s celebrate spring’s late (but welcome) arrival by blessing our bicycles! A brief blessing with bubbles, decorations, and prayers for safety will begin at noon near the blue door in the church parking lot. It’s a celebration for all ages with help from Alyssa Kohn of Minneapolis By Bike, our local bike expert. Bring your bike and your neighbors – see you at noon! Alyssa Kohn is the owner of a bike tourism business in Minneapolis. Learn more about her seasonal tours at www.minneapolisbybike.com.
