Calling all Hosts Extraordinaire! We need your hosting skills to help make Lyndale’s Great Gatherings a success!
Great Gatherings are fun and creative mini fundraisers that support LNA while getting community members together for social activities and events. Use your unique skills to design a Great Gathering that will showcase your talents, engage community members, and support the Lyndale Neighborhood Association.
One thing that sets these events apart is that they are hosted BY community members FOR community members. These events have been popular and have raised over $10,000 in the past 3 years! We are grateful and proud of our community members and want to help you get involved in these unique events.
If you’ve never been to one of LNA’s Great Gatherings, you’re really missing out on a fun way to meet new people and to support the neighborhood. Great Gatherings are mini-fundraisers designed and hosted by Lyndale community members. These events run a wide range of activities, from progressive dinner parties to dyeing fabric with indigo, Great Gatherings are one of the fun and social ways you can help Lyndale in its vision of being a safe, vibrant, and sustainable community.
Upcoming Great Gatherings
Join fellow Lyndalians for an evening of board games and cocktails. Indulge your competitive self and have fun showing off your gaming skills. Just picture yourself tipping your head back in conquest, fancy intoxicant in hand. Sweet sweet victory.
Using found objects and the sun, create beautiful prints that appear blue and white when "developed" with water. We'll have some fabric and paper samples to work on and hope for a sunny day! Eat your heart out Thomas Kincaide!
World Street Kitchen finds Harriet Avenue. Try fusion dishes inspired by World Street Kitchen with their own Harriet flair. A multi-cultural-culinary experience awaits you.
Join us for Lyndale's first ever Poetry Slam! Prizes will be awarded to the top slammers. So get out your pens, start working those words, and come down to show your skillz.
Join us for the 5th annual Lyndale Oktoberfest. We'll enjoy an evening of brats, beer, and other Oktoberfest favorites. Don't miss out on this very popular Great Gathering. Wunderbar! Prost!
About Great Gatherings
Great Gatherings are fun events hosted by community members for other community members. These events showcase the varied and unique talents and skills of your fellow community members. What better way to have some fun, meet some cool people, and support Lyndale all at the same time! All proceeds from Great Gatherings benefit the Lyndale Neighborhood Association.
You can still sign up for Great Gatherings as long as there are slots available. Once all of the slots are all filled up, the events are closed so don’t wait too long. You can sign up for Great Gatherings by contacting Aryca at 612.824.9402 ext 26 or aryca@lyndale.org.
Upcoming Events
Join us at the May General Membership meeting to hear from Minneapolis Mayoral candidates Mark Andrew & Cam Winton, learn about the noise mitigation process for the I35W Access project, and Avenues for Youth. We will also be having a community vote on a request from Teen Challenge for a variance for expansion of services.
Monthly Committee Meeting for the LNA Environment Committee. The Environment Committee meets on the first Tuesday of the Month.

Fish Festivity Functionaries:
That great month of June is upon us and the Fish Fest beckons. One of the highlights of the year, Fish Fest brings the community together in a flurry of fish tacos, good tunes, activities, and water balloons! We need help with all aspects of the event from set up to tear down, opportunities include: event and food set up, food/drink serving, activity stewards, water balloon fillers, booth sitters, money takers, and clean up stars.
