Nicollet Open Streets: Event Map, Route & Where to Park

The music and magic are FINALLY coming to Nicollet Ave this Saturday, Sept. 28!!

Join us from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a two-mile celebration of our main street! We have a great day ahead of us with pop-up activities, live music, and fresh food and drinks!

Event Route & Car Traffic

The event route follows Nicollet Avenue between 31st and 46th Street. There will be one lane of car traffic along the West side of Nicollet Ave. between 40th and 42nd Streets to allow driveway access to our neighbors! Elsewhere the route will be closed to car traffic.

Getting There & Parking

We encourage you to walk, bike or roll to Nicollet Ave. For those using public transit, Metro Transit buses are a great option with routes servicing the area (check out their handy Trip Planner tool). If you’re driving, you can park your car on any of the parallel streets near Nicollet Avenue.


What Is Nicollet Open Streets?

Nicollet Open Streets is a free, family-friendly event covering two miles of Nicollet Avenue. This event is not just a street festival, but it is a celebration of community that allows neighbors to experience city streets as public spaces where community thrives! So pump up your bike tires or lace up your walking shoes to explore what’s great about Lyndale and Kingfield’s main street!

This event is grounded in community. It is organized by the Lyndale Neighborhood Association in partnership with the City of Minneapolis.
