Lyndale Neighborhood Association

I was having an interesting conversation at Dia del Nino about why people do or don’t get involved in the neighborhood.  It was similar to many conversations I’ve had over the years with people about the how and why they got involved in the neighborhood.

Over the years I’ve heard a lot of different answers about how people started getting involved, for some people it was a public safety issue, for others it was a big project like the street lighting proposal, and for some it was because they wanted to get to know their neighbors better.

There is still time to nominate Lyndale community members for the Community Service Award!  This annual award honors people who selflessly serve Lyndale in an effort to make it a better place.  Anyone who has worked towards a safer, more vibrant, and sustainable community in the past 10 years is eligible, they do not need to be a current volunteer.  And although we do really have the best Board in the City, Board Members and staff are ineligible for the award.  LNA takes pride in the outstanding people in the community and looks forward to recognizing these special individuals at the Annual
