Lyndale Neighborhood Community Gardens

Applications are now open!

Plot-based gardens are available to rent for the season between May and October. The call for applications will first prioritize returning gardeners who met the 2024 garden guidelines. After that, applications will be reviewed in the order they are received—first open to the entire Lyndale community and then to any interested parties.

The Lyndale Neighborhood Association owns four community garden locations in the Lyndale neighborhood. Making plots deeply affordable for individuals and families to grow their own fruits and vegetables that otherwise may not have the space to do so. Part of our garden space is a designated donation garden where produce is harvested and donated back to the community. In 2025, LNA is proposing for three properties to be sold for redevelopment. See our announcement in the Winter 2025 issue of the South Nicollet News for more details:

LNA Properties Proposed for Development Sale in 2025

Under advisement of the LNA Housing Committee, the LNA Board has expressed an interest in selling three individual properties that it owns for development. The lots are all zoned R5 and the sizes and locations of the parcels are as follows:

216 31st St. W. / 3098 SF
3043 Pleasant Ave. S. / 3067 SF
102 32nd St. W. / 3270 SF

A Request for Proposals is being prepared, and it is expected that the properties will be offered for sale in the early 2025. If you are interested in being informed about the public sale, please contact Sarah Linnes-Robinson, LNA’s Director of Projects at projects@lyndale.org.

Corner Garden

Corner Garden is a plot-based garden site that includes rental plots, water access, and shared resources like two Gardens-in-a-Box, a boulevard garden, a tool shed, and gathering areas.

Pillsbury Farm

3110-3112 Pillsbury Ave. S

Pillsbury Farm is a plot-based garden site that includes rental plots, nearby water access, and shared resources like a pollinator garden, compost, tool shed, and gathering areas.

Pillsbury Farm is also the site of Lyndale’s Donation Garden. Each growing season, a local organization tends to the donation garden space growing produce that is harvested and donated back to the community. In the 2023 growing season, Hennepin County Master Gardeners donated 355 pounds of produce to Harvest From the Heart—all grown from the donation garden!

Pleasant Avenue Garden

Pleasant Garden is a plot-based garden site that includes rental plots, nearby water access, and shared resources like compost, a tool shed, and gathering areas.

Pleasant Garden is also the site of the Robert & Irene Memorial Garden.

Lyndale Rain Garden

102 32nd St. W.

The Lyndale Rain Garden is a public garden space in the Lyndale neighborhood. Amenities include a paver patio and benches. In 2024, LNA partnered with Hosmer Library to offer a monthly Garden Storytime at the Lyndale Rain Garden.
