The Power of Community: Fall Fundraiser Reflections

Last Thursday was the day we have all been counting down to: LNA’s Fall Fundraiser. It was a night that brought together friends, supporters and community members for a memorable evening. Our fundraiser was a resounding success thanks to all those who attended and supported our work. Together, we raised over $6,700. This amount is matched by the Otto Bremer Trust to total over $13,400 in support of LNA! We are so grateful for your enthusiastic and generous support of LNA’s work.

Success Stories

One of the highlights of the event was inspiring speeches delivered by Fei Zhan, an ELL learner; Ann Waara, a volunteer; and Grayson Betz, LNA’s Digital Literacy Instructor & Coordinator. Each speaker shared their personal stories with LNA education programs, emphasizing the real impact that these programs have. Their stories served as a powerful reminder of the tangible difference our collective efforts can make in the lives of our neighbors.

Silent Auction & Entertainment

Our silent auction was a big hit, featuring an array of fantastic items generously donated by local businesses and individuals. From fitness packages to exquisite photography, there was something for everyone to bid on.

Neighbors spent the evening mingling while playing games like Jenga and Friendly Faces Bingo. The fun in the room was palpable as neighbors made new connections and engaged in friendly competition for Christos and Pumphouse Creamery gift cards.

To keep spirits high, we had live entertainment throughout the evening. Thor dazzled us with his accordion playing and Emmet Doyle provided the perfect backdrop for roasting s’mores.

Thank You

We also want to take a moment to acknowledge the invaluable contributions that made this event possible. A huge thank you to our sponsor, Associated Bank; to Placemaker Hospitality for extending their liquor license to us; for the yummy food donations from Galactic Pizza, Pizza Luce, Uptown Pizza, Valerie’s Carniceria, Panaderia El Ray, and Wrecktangle Pizza; the generosity of our silent auction donors; and our hardworking volunteers, staff, and board members for making it all possible! It truly takes a village, and we are grateful for every person who played a part in this gathering happen.

Conclusion

Our Fall Fundraiser was an evening to remember! We look forward to building on this success and continuing to make a meaningful difference in Lyndale. Thank you for being part of our journey!
