Seller Tips

  • Location: A garage is not the only option! A yard, porch, or tent are some of the alternatives.
  • Signs: You can promote garage sales by placing additional signs at the closest intersection or drawing arrows with chalk on the nearby sidewalks.
  • Goods’ Placement: Not enough tables? Don’t worry; other options exist, e.g., blankets on the ground or saw horses with a flat surface on top of them.
  • Prices: Make it easy for buyers by pricing everything you want to sell. And be prepared to barter 🙂
  • Cash: Cash still drives garage sales; having enough extra banknotes and coins might be helpful. And, of course, you may offer other payment options like Venmo or PayPal.
  • Bags: Ideally, shoppers should bring their bags, but it’s a good idea to have a few ready just in case.
  • Want to offer something extra? Offering water, lemonade, baked goodies, etc., for sale might be a good option. Shoppers will appreciate some refreshments on their shopping journey through the neighborhood.
