LNA’s Governing board, its Board of Directors, has legal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization. They are responsible for making decisions on behalf of the organization and ensuring that it complies with applicable laws and regulations.
Holly Reckel
President
Holly has lived in the Lyndale Neighborhood since 1995. She has been actively participating as a member of LNA through volunteering and serving in various roles on the Board of Directors over the years. She is most interested in Environment Committee activities – anything involving gardening, community green spaces, and sustainability. She believes contributing locally and building relationships in our community are the best ways to impact how things work in our city/state.
Doug Herkenhoff, Vice President
Doug has a commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Minneapolis which shines through in his active neighborhood involvement. Whether facilitating discussions on local initiatives, advocating for residents’ needs, or leading outreach efforts, he will inspire to foster unity and progress. Doug’s collaborative spirit encourages others to engage in positive change, by building a vibrant and inclusive neighborhood for all.
Doug grew up in South Minneapolis and has lived in the Lyndale Neighborhood since 2005. He enjoys meeting new people, supporting local restaurants and canoe trips to the BWCA. Doug and his wife Denise have a large urban garden and enjoy hosting the occasional neighborhood garden tour and party.

Chaz Larson has been a resident of Lyndale Neighborhood since Nov 2016, when he and his wife Katie moved back to the big city from Waconia, MN. Chaz works as a software consultant and enjoys karaoke, LEGO, and live music.

Stephen McHenry
As a devoted husband and father of two, Stephen is deeply invested in creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for families in our neighborhood. Stephen actively engages with the local school community, maintaining the school garden and fostering connections with fellow parents and educators. Whether volunteering at the community school or hosting concerts for the neighborhood, he consistently demonstrates his dedication to enriching the lives of Lyndale residents.
Professionally, Stephen draws upon his expertise in the housing industry, bringing valuable insights and innovative solutions to community development initiatives in Lyndale. Stephen finds joy in exploring the vibrant streets of Minneapolis with his family and beloved dog, soaking in the rich culture and diversity of our city.
Emmanuel Okanla
Matthew Stanton
Matthew has lived in the Lyndale neighborhood for about 10 years.
He loves how connected, friendly, and resilient our neighborhood is. We are also situated in a great area with parks, lakes, biking trails, and tons of entertainment nearby.
Matthew joined LNA to support the community in any way he could. He is interested in public safety, environmental sustainability, and inclusion for all of our neighbors.
Matthew is an avid fly fisher, cyclist, skateboarder, hiker, and lover of all things outdoors.
Mary Trondson
Mary M. Trondson is a Business Owner at the corner of Lyndale and Lake in the LynLake office building. Mary has been a State Farm Agent for the past 30 years, serving the Minneapolis and Greater Minnesota Area.
Mary brings with her 20 years of previous board work throughout the Twin Cities. Her previous work has been increasing Membership to the Uptown Association and The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Mary has worked for a decade at the Uptown Art Fair. Mary’s contribution in her first year on the LNA board is the execution of the Wheels and Bike Rodeo at Painter Park.
Mary lives in South Minneapolis with her two dogs, Shitzu Tori and Chihuahua Bubba. She spends her summer weekends taking in music concerts and hiking. Mary has completed 25 of the 75 Minnesota State Parks. Mary also is a member of Books and Bars, a 25-year Book Club in Minneapolis and St Paul.
Advisory Board Members
The Advisory Board works in partnership with the Lyndale Neighborhood Association’s (LNA) Board of Directors and is an Ambassador for LNA in the community. Advisory board members play a crucial role in helping LNA make informed decisions by providing guidance and advice, and helping to steer LNA in the right direction and ensure that it stays on track to achieve its goals.
LNA’s Advisory board members do not have legal or fiduciary responsibilities. Their focus is on providing guidance and advice to LNA’s Board of Directors.
